The historic Weedsport, New York speedway comes to life for three straight days of heart-pounding, high-powered, pedal-mashing entertainment, with the 100-lap Big-Block Modified winner on Sunday taking home $20,000 from the record $100,000 purse.

Commemorating the 34th straight season of operation for the DIRTcar Racing organization and founding member facility Cayuga County Fair Speedway, all 34 days leading up to the historic event are filled with important news, notes and nostalgia, each continuing to showcase the biggest motorsports extravaganza of the summer --- including the richest race ever scheduled in the history of the popular Route 31 oval.

Not only has defending Weedsport champion ‘A.J. Slideways’ collected eight Big-Block point titles at The Port, the Central New York chauffeur has registered 61 feature wins over the past 30 years. Since following the DIRTcar Northeast circuit he has finished out of the top-10 in the overall Mr. DIRTcar points just six times in 33 seasons and established the mark of 29 consecutive seasons with at least one top-five tour race finish. Along with Alan remaining DIRTcar Northeast's all-time career Big-Block Modified feature win leader (360), he is the only driver to register at least one Big-Block win every year since the organization’s inception in 1976. Also a five-time overall Hoosier Tire-VP Racing Fuels Mr. DIRTcar Big-Block Champion (2006, 2002-03, 1983, 1981) spanning three decades, his major race resume includes three Rite Aid 200 Super DIRT Week Championships on the Syracuse Mile and an Eastern States 200 victory at Orange County Fair Speedway among his 50 (4th all-time) Super DIRTcar Series triumphs.
